Reflection:

For thanksgiving all my family came together. We all agreed to go to my Tia’s house. I met family members i didn’t even know i had.When our family came together, some of my cousins from Sinaloa and Mexico came along. Although my whole thanksgiving week i was doing homework and projects that were assigned for my classes, i can honestly say it was a good week. On Friday morning my mom, dad, sisters, and myself went shopping for black Friday. We tried to go early because it gets really packed with people since everything is more than half% off.In the same way on thanksgiving my mom and sister went to the super market to buy everything for the thanksgiving dinner.They usually make many dishes such as tamales, pozole,spagetti, pasta alfredo , turkey, and aside from that deserts. For the desserts my cousins and i were in charge of making two cakes ...and my mom had made jello the day before. We also had many games for kids and later on when everyone finished eating we started to dance since we had loud speakers playing music.

Veterans  Day is the first anniversary of the end of World War I. It has become  a national holiday celebrated on Nov.11.  In the same way Veterans Day is a public holiday that is dedicated to honor anyone who has served in the United States Military. The holiday began as a day to remember the end of World War I and was turned into a holiday by President Woodrow in 1919. Many of you may ask yourself,"why is it important to celebrate Veterans Day?" The reason why is to show respect for those who were willing to give up their lives to the country. In my opinion Veterans Day is important to me because it is a time to recognize and honor or pay respect to those who served this country.

Reflection: What i think this quote means is that in order to live a happy and peaceful life you have to be honest and truthful to yourself. Meaning you have to know when something is right or wrong, and if it's wrong than you should be able to say no to it. To add on integrity isn't just a word its a moral principal. It is when someone is always honest never lies, chooses the right every time etc...
For instance if someone offers you weed or any type of drug, someone that has integrity would say no because that's the right thing to do. To live with integrity it's really not much but know when something is wrong, be able to say no to it, and always be truthful to yourself.

Student Success Statement:” The best recreation is to do good.”

Reflection: What i think William Penn meant by this quote is that something you should enjoy doing is doing good.Doing good should be something you would want to do more than go hiking, playing soccer, basketball, volleyball etc… The reason why is because you should enjoy and want to be good to other.In the same way doing something good/nice for someone else should be something you  do daily.I also think this qoute means that theirs nothing better than to do good and feel good everyday.

Student Success Statement:” Right is right, even if everyone is against it; and wrong is wrong, even if everyone is for it.”

Reflection:What i think William Penn meant by this quote is that making a bad choice is never okay!..Yes, everyone might be for it but that doesn’t make it right or good. For instance let’s say your friends are all going to ditch school the next day and they want you to go with them, of course the wrong thing to do would be to say yes so they won’t think you are not cool. On the other hand the right thing to do would be to say no even if they get mad at you, because you have to be able to determine right from wrong.I’m not saying you can’t have fun and go out with your friends but you do have to limit yourself and know what is bad decision.  Another example would be smoking. Let’s  say one day your friend comes to your house and he is smoking and he tells you if you want to try it...The right thing to do would be to say NO!, because even if everyone is smoking weed or getting high that doesn’t mean you should do it too. The reason why is because you should be able to determine and see that smoking weed can affect your health in negative way. Don’t be a follower ….CTR ALWAYS!!!

Reflection: What i think Peter Vidmar meant by this quote is that opportunities don’t come around twice. In the same way I believe this quote means that if you throw your dream for something that isn’t permanent it’ a waste of time. For example let’s say your goal is recive a A+ for your Math class before your permanent report card  and you know you are going to have a huge test the next day, and you decide to go out with your friends instead of staying home to study. You just throw away your goal for something that wasn’t worth it, because you can always go out with your friends some other day but  you won’t be able to change your grade to an A+.

                      School Homecoming

Homecoming is the tradition of welcoming back former students and celebrating a school’s existence. Homecoming is a time to celebrate the school you are attending, and after you graduate you come back to see your old friends. In the same way homecoming usually centers around a football game.

Activities? For example Linda Marquez High School (HPIAM) has a spirit week before the homecoming football game. On Monday is was pj’s, meaning you could bring your pj’s to school. Then it was Tropical Tuesday etc.. Many schools have homecoming activities before the homecoming game.

Reflection: In my opinion homecoming is pretty cool, because you get to celebrate the school you attend. Also because the school throw cool activities like the homecoming dance and spirit week before the Homecoming game.  In the same way homecoming is a good experience to just meet up with your friends and have fun and to show school spirit.
