Kimball meant by this quote is that you will never truly learn to do something if you don't try.I also think this quote means that if you try to do something and it doesn't go that well you need to keep doing it until you do it. For example lets say you want to become a pro skater some day,but you don't know how to skate. In order to become a  pro skater you have  to try to learn how to skate. We learn from our mistakes in the same way we have to try.  .
