Reflection:What i think William Penn meant by this quote is that making a bad choice is never okay!..Yes, everyone might be for it but that doesn’t make it right or good. For instance let’s say your friends are all going to ditch school the next day and they want you to go with them, of course the wrong thing to do would be to say yes so they won’t think you are not cool. On the other hand the right thing to do would be to say no even if they get mad at you, because you have to be able to determine right from wrong.I’m not saying you can’t have fun and go out with your friends but you do have to limit yourself and know what is bad decision.  Another example would be smoking. Let’s  say one day your friend comes to your house and he is smoking and he tells you if you want to try it...The right thing to do would be to say NO!, because even if everyone is smoking weed or getting high that doesn’t mean you should do it too. The reason why is because you should be able to determine and see that smoking weed can affect your health in negative way. Don’t be a follower ….CTR ALWAYS!!!

Reflection: What i think Peter Vidmar meant by this quote is that opportunities don’t come around twice. In the same way I believe this quote means that if you throw your dream for something that isn’t permanent it’ a waste of time. For example let’s say your goal is recive a A+ for your Math class before your permanent report card  and you know you are going to have a huge test the next day, and you decide to go out with your friends instead of staying home to study. You just throw away your goal for something that wasn’t worth it, because you can always go out with your friends some other day but  you won’t be able to change your grade to an A+.

                      School Homecoming

Homecoming is the tradition of welcoming back former students and celebrating a school’s existence. Homecoming is a time to celebrate the school you are attending, and after you graduate you come back to see your old friends. In the same way homecoming usually centers around a football game.

Activities? For example Linda Marquez High School (HPIAM) has a spirit week before the homecoming football game. On Monday is was pj’s, meaning you could bring your pj’s to school. Then it was Tropical Tuesday etc.. Many schools have homecoming activities before the homecoming game.

Reflection: In my opinion homecoming is pretty cool, because you get to celebrate the school you attend. Also because the school throw cool activities like the homecoming dance and spirit week before the Homecoming game.  In the same way homecoming is a good experience to just meet up with your friends and have fun and to show school spirit.

A Good Name     

Student Success Statement: ‘’ A good name is better than anything you can achieve in this life.’’

Reflection: In my opinion i think this quote means that making a good name for yourself is far way more valuable. Yes, achieving accomplishments is really important and good, but the one thing people are going to know you for would be  your name. That’s why making a good name for yourself and to  have others know you because of it is the biggest accomplishment in your life. Another reason why i believe having a good name is better than any accomplishment is because knowing you did good in your life by choosing  the right and became a great human being is wonderful. Like my quote says, ‘’ A good name will shine forever.’’Meaning no matter what having a good name will forever follow you and will never be forgotten.

Global Opportunities: Careers in other countries

• FBI agents work in Washington D.C on different cases.
• The Netherlands, Australia, United States, and Canada are great places to become a doctor because you get paid more.
• If you want to become a lawyer China, Germany, France, and United States get paid more.

Reflection: You can pretty much settle into whatever career you choose anywhere. In the same way you also have to see what countries offer you more and where you get paid more. For example if you choose to focus your career in criminal justice and you want to be FBI agent you would have to go to Washington D.C, because you work on all the cases their. You also have to see what counties benefits you more either where help is needed the most or where you get paid more.

                                          Choosing a good name

Reflection: What i think this quote means is that making a good name of yourself is far way more important than money. The reason why is because your name is going to follow you for your rest of your life, and you will be known for your name. For example what Mr. Haymore said, ‘’If you become a CTR person you will be know as a good and hard working student.’’ Meaning whatever you do you are going to be known for that. In the same way i also believe this quote means that making a good person out of you is far way more valuable. After all it’s not the name that is important but the person behind the name.

Health Educator

Duties and Responsibilities:  Health educators teach people about behaviors about your wellness. They advise and help you develop strategies to improve your health. They also help individuals   by collecting data and discussing health concerns with members from specific populations or communities.

Salary: $41,830

Education/ demands: To become a health educator you  must have a Bachelor’s degree alongside you need to be familiar with  health education, public health education or health promotion.

Reflection: No, i wouldn’t want to become a health educator because i want to focus in being a surgeon or something that has to do in criminal justice .

Healthcare Administrator

Duties and Responsibilities:Salar Healthcare Administrator are often called health services managers.  They are responsible for the management of office equipment such as patients records. In the same way some healthcare administrators nurse patient in their home.

Education: To become a healthcare administrator you need a Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in healthcare administration . You must have a high school diploma and a Bachelor’s Degree. In the same way you must also take classes like criminal forensics, finance, emergency management, and technology.

Reflection:  No i wouldn’t want to become a healthcare administrator because i want to focus  my career on becoming a heart surgeon, or in something that has to do in criminal justice.

Reflection: What i think Thomas S. Monson meant by this quote is that you have to learn to say NO! When it comes to doing something you know is bad. Meaning you have to stand up for the right thing even if everyone is against you. For example let’s say all your friends are smoking weed and they offer you so that you can try it, you have to say no, because even though all your friends are doing it doesn’t mean you should. In the same way this quote simply means that you should always stand up for what you think is wrong.

Veterinarian

Duties and Responsibilities: A veterinarian is a medical professional who protects the health and well being of animals. They diagnose and control animal disease and treat sick and injured animals. They also advise owners on ways to take care of their pets.

Education/ demands: A veterinarian must complete a four year of Doctor Veterinary Medicine program. They also have to earn a Bachelor’s Degree at a four year college or university.In the same way you must take classes such as biology, chemistry, biochemistry, physics, anatomy, physiology, math, animal science etc..

Reflection: The reason why i choose to learn more towards this career is, because at some point i was thinking about focusing on this career because i love animals. In my opinion i really like this profession because I’m technically getting payed to be with animals and to take care of them. On the other hand this is something i would like to do as well as becoming a heart surgeon.

CTR CHAMPION

Student success statement : ‘’ A CTR campion is a person who makes a great human out of himself.’’

Reflection: What I think this quote means is  that a person who is  always chooses the right, someone who isn’t selfish, and someone who always does the right no matter if it may or may not cause problems for himself/herself  is what makes you a great human being. In the same way being a basketball, soccer, baseball player etc.. doesn’t make  you a winner nor a champion if you aren’t a CTR person yourself. In my opinion this quote simply means that you will never truly lose if you chose the right at all time. Being a CTR person is what makes you a great person and takes you to the path for success.

Environmental Health Specialist

Duties and Responsibilities: They are responsible for enforcing local, state, and federal regulations that pertain to the sanitation of food, water, and infectious waste, and cleanliness and safety of housing. They are someone who inspects environmental health system.

Salary: $31,359-$64,838

Education/ demands: In order to become an environmental health specialist you must earn a Bachelor’s Degree and pursue a Master’s Degree. You also must have experience so you have to attend training of some sort.

Reflection:In my opinion No, i wouldn’t want to be a environmental health specialist because i want  to focus my career in medicine or in criminal justice.Either a heart surgeon or something that has to do in criminal justice.

Reflection: What i think Mark Victor Hansen meant by that quote is that there are only two steps to accomplish a goal. Which is to set a goal and to accomplish it. I also think this quote means that if you set your mind to do something and you persevere you can be assure your going to achieve it. After all that’s the whole point of setting a goal to never give up and to have your mind set on something for the future. For example let’s say you want to raise your grade for math from a B to an A, and you fail at first. That’s okay because you will keep trying until you do. Setting and doing is all about determination.

Columbus Day

Who is Christopher Columbus?..Christopher Columbus was an explorer, navigator,and a colonizer. He is known as the first european explorer to discover the Americas when he landed in the late 1492. In the same way he discovered the New World.While him and his crew were sailing west in order to find a route to Asia to improve trading access, he landed on the east coast of North America.He was also considered a hero because he traveled to the New World and launched many expeditions and migrations. All the money brought back to Europe gave him the status of a Hero.

What is the meaning of Columbus Day?.. It is a holiday (to appreciate) the discovery of the New World by Christopher Columbus in 1492.

Reflection:In my opinion I don’t see why he or still is considered a Hero. Yes, he did discover the New World but I don’t know why that gave him the status of Hero. Don’t get me wrong him and his crew discovering the New World (americas) is an amazing achievement.I can see why the Europeans thought of him as a hero, mainly because he did not only cause the founding of states,Mexico and Canada, but he also set everyone exploring and reshaping the world.

Faust meant by this quote is that when we learn to expect more success than failure in life, we soon will develop an attitude of success.Meaning that when we decide to make our goal obedience it can help us in  life by choosing the right... knowing what's wrong and what's bad. In the same way i think this quote means that if we pay attention, follow all the rules we can be assure that we will have a great future awaiting, because the more you do the faster you will reach the top.                                  

Lawyer                                                                                                                                                    Duties and Responsibilities: A lawyer is also known as an attorney, you would be a advisor, and counselor to the clients you represent.Your job would include counseling client about legal options and representing them in criminal or civil court proceedings. In  the same way if you want to become a lawyer some duties you would have would be preparing legal documents, legal research,filing briefs, speaking with clients, collecting evidence, and analyzing laws.                                                                                             Salary: $113,530                                                                                                                              Education/Demands: In order to become a lawyer you need to have a doctoral or professional degree. Usually takes about seven years of full-time  study after school. 4 years of undergraduate study, also followed by 3 years of law school.                                                                                                                                                        Reflection: Yes, I might want to focus on a career in law only if i chose not to become a doctor. I’m between deciding if i want to choose a career in law or if i want to focus towards criminal justice. Both sound interesting but I don’t know weather i want to be a lawyer or a FBI secret agent.
